Paul Chalk was a shoe salesman in Puyallup, Washington, who began painting what he saw from his shop: Mt. Rainier. He soon became known as the Mountain Man. He was very prolific in painting Mt. Rainier and also clowns. His work hangs in various collections around the world, including the Vatican.
